Welcome. This site preserves the history of The Wet Spot, Seattle's sex-positive community space that operated from 1999 through 2007. The organization rebranded and continues today as the Center for Sex Positive Culture (CSPC). For current events, classes, and membership, please visit thecspc.org.

About The Wet Spot

The Wet Spot was Seattle's first dedicated sex-positive community space. Founded in 1999, it grew out of the BDSM and kink-related programming that had been running at Allena Gabosch's Beyond the Edge Cafe. Within its first year the organization had grown to roughly 2,000 members. By the time it rebranded to the Center for Sex Positive Culture in 2007 it had registered more than 10,000 members and produced hundreds of classes, parties, and community events.

The Wet Spot served the BDSM, swinging, polyamorous, and broader sex-positive communities of the Pacific Northwest. Programming ranged from beginner education nights to advanced peer-rope salons, from women's circles to all-you-can-eat social potlucks, from quiet members' lounges to large dungeon parties.

This archive exists to preserve that history. The space, the staff, and the programming live on under a new name; the brand and stories you found here belong to a community that built something rare.
